Job Description

The State of North Dakota invites passionate and driven students to apply for our Internship Opportunities Program for 2024. This program offers a unique chance to gain practical experience across various state government departments and agencies. Interns will work on impactful projects, develop professional skills, and explore potential careers in public service.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, gather data, and perform analysis for ongoing projects
  • Assist in the development and execution of state programs and initiatives
  • Attend meetings, workshops, and training sessions
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other necessary documents
  • Collaborate with team members and other state departments to achieve project objectives
  • Perform administrative tasks and provide general office support
  • Engage with community members and stakeholders as needed

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Pursuing a degree in public administration, political science, business, economics, or a related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Experience

  • Previous internship or work experience in a professional environment is preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience in data analysis, project management, or public policy is advantageous

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
