Job Description:
The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) is offering internship opportunities for graduate students in 2024. As a GAO intern, you will have the chance to contribute to impactful work in auditing, evaluations, and investigations, gaining valuable experience in the field of public service and government accountability.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting research, analysis, and data collection for GAO projects.
- Collaborate with GAO teams to contribute to the development of reports and recommendations.
- Participate in meetings, interviews, and site visits to gather information.
- Contribute to the preparation of briefing materials and presentations.
- Support the drafting of sections of reports and other written products.
- Engage in discussions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program in a relevant field (e.g., public policy, business administration, political science, economics, etc.).
- Strong academic record and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Interest in government operations, accountability, and public policy.
Experience: Previous experience in research, analysis, or public service is a plus but not mandatory. GAO is looking for individuals with a passion for public service and a desire to contribute to the betterment of government operations.
