Job Description:

The Capitol Police Internship Program offers an exciting opportunity for students to gain firsthand experience in law enforcement and public service within the United States Capitol Police (USCP) force. This program is designed to provide interns with exposure to various aspects of Capitol security and law enforcement operations.

  1. Assist with the implementation of security protocols and procedures at the United States Capitol.
  2. Conduct research and analysis on issues related to law enforcement, homeland security, and emergency preparedness.
  3. Shadow experienced officers during patrols, special events, and other law enforcement activities.
  4. Provide support for administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and document preparation.
  5. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge of law enforcement practices and procedures.
  6. Collaborate with team members on special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university.

  4. U.S. citizenship is required.
  5. Ability to pass a background check and security clearance.
