Amtrak Police is excited to announce its Graduate Internship Program for 2024, offering an unparalleled opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in law enforcement and security. As a Graduate Intern, you will contribute to critical projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and play an integral role in ensuring the safety and security of Amtrak’s passengers and assets.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the day-to-day operations of Amtrak Police, including patrols, investigations, and emergency response.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety and security initiatives.
- Collaborate with law enforcement professionals on special projects and initiatives.
- Conduct research and analysis on crime trends and security measures.
- Attend meetings, take notes, and actively contribute to discussions.
- Engage in administrative tasks to support the effective functioning of the Amtrak Police Department.
Qualifications:
- Recent graduate with a Master’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, security studies, or a related field.
- Strong academic record with coursework relevant to law enforcement and security.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a law enforcement environment.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
Experience:
- Previous internship, coursework, or experience in law enforcement or security is advantageous but not required.
- Familiarity with criminal justice systems and security protocols is a plus.
